Our Story

Build Your Own Blend (BYOB) started with two dogs… and a lot of trial, error, and label reading.

Jury, our American Bully, came into the world as the runt of the litter — born deaf, with a sensitive stomach and a list of food issues that seemed to grow by the week. By 10 months old, our vet had lovingly (and somewhat accurately) diagnosed her as a “lemon.” 🤣

Judge, our Pitbull / American Bully cross, wasn’t far behind — dealing with food sensitivities of her own. And while bully breeds are known for sensitivities, we quickly realized they’re not the only ones. Many pet parents struggle to find the right balance for their dogs.

We spent a lot of time reading ingredient labels, trying to find something that would work for both of them… and never quite did.
So we did what a lot of pet parents do — we started experimenting.

We began adding simple, whole ingredients to their meals —
mixing and matching small combinations that worked for them.
Over time, those combinations turned into our own “blends.”

And something interesting happened.

Not only did it help our dogs, but we realized we probably weren’t the only ones trying to figure this out.

That’s where BYOB was born.
