  • Build Your Own Blend (BYOB) offers simple, single-ingredient frozen cubes made from fruits and vegetables. Each cube is designed to make it easy to add fresh, whole foods to your dog’s regular meals.

  • Yes. Each BYOB blend contains only one ingredient with no fillers, additives, salt, sugar, or preservatives.

  • BYOB cubes are made from simple fruits and vegetables that are gently prepared, cubed, and frozen for freshness.

    Vegetables are lightly steamed before freezing, while fruits are prepared and frozen as appropriate for the ingredient. Nothing else is added.

Feeding & Portions

General guidance on adding BYOB cubes to your dog’s regular meals.

  • BYOB cubes are designed as a supplemental topper.

    General guideline per meal:

    Small dogs
    ½–1 cube

    Medium dogs
    1–2 cubes

    Large dogs
    2–3 cubes

    Each cube is approximately 1 tablespoon.

    Fresh additions should generally not exceed 10% of a pet’s daily intake unless guided by a veterinarian.

  • Start by adding a small amount to your dog’s regular food and gradually increase over several days.

    Introducing new foods slowly helps avoid digestive upset.

  • Yes! Many pet owners like to rotate or combine different ingredients to add variety to their dog’s meals.

    Because each blend contains only one ingredient, it’s easy to mix and match based on your dog’s preferences.

  • Each bag contains 12 cubes.

    The cubes are portioned for convenience, making it easy to add one or more cubes depending on your dog’s size and needs.

Storage & Shelf Life

How to store cubes and maintain freshness.

  • BYOB cubes should be kept frozen until ready to use.

    For best quality, store the cubes in your freezer and reseal the pouch after each use.

  • For optimal freshness and quality:

    • Use within 6 months of purchase
    • Store at –18°C / 0°F or colder

    Opening the pouch does not significantly change shelf life as long as the cubes remain frozen.

  • “Best Before” refers to quality, not safety.

    When stored properly in the freezer, the cubes may remain safe beyond this date, although texture or freshness may gradually decline.

  • Because BYOB cubes are made from real fruits and vegetables and stored frozen, it’s normal for cubes to occasionally stick together.

    If this happens, simply tap the pouch gently on the counter or separate them with a utensil.

    This does not affect quality or freshness.

Ingredients & Sensitivities

  • Because each blend contains only one ingredient, it can be easier to monitor ingredients and identify sensitivities when introducing new foods.

    Always consult your veterinarian when managing allergies or sensitivities.

  • BYOB cubes are prepared in a shared commercial kitchen that follows strict sanitation practices.

    While care is taken to minimize cross-contact, trace exposure to other foods may be possible.

Orders & Availability

How ordering and pickup works.

  • Pickup dates are typically scheduled every two weeks.

    Orders usually close about one week before pickup to allow time for small-batch preparation and freezing.

    Pickup instructions and location details are provided after order confirmation.

  • At this time we primarily offer local pickup orders.

    Limited local delivery may become available in the future.

  • Not yet.

    BYOB is currently available through local pickup orders while we focus on small-batch production and growing our community.

    We hope to partner with local retailers in the future — stay tuned!

Packaging

Information about our packaging choices.

  • At this time, BYOB pouches are not curbside recyclable.

    We use a high-barrier, food-safe pouch to protect product quality and freezer stability.

  • For frozen, moisture-heavy products, strong barrier protection is essential to prevent freezer burn, odor transfer, and seal failure.

    As the business grows, we plan to explore recyclable packaging options that meet our quality and safety standards.

Cats

Information for households with both dogs and cats.

  • BYOB cubes are designed primarily for dogs, but some ingredients may also be suitable for cats in small amounts.

    Cats have different nutritional needs than dogs and rely on animal-based proteins as the main part of their diet. Fruits and vegetables should only be considered an occasional addition.

    If you’re thinking about offering a cube to your cat, we recommend checking with your veterinarian first.

  • No. Cats require specific nutrients that come from animal proteins, so BYOB cubes should only be offered as a very small occasional addition, not a replacement for their regular food.

  • BYOB cubes were created to help dog owners easily add simple, whole-food ingredients to their dog’s meals.

    Because cats have stricter dietary requirements, we recommend speaking with your veterinarian before introducing new foods to your cat.
